Lois M. Beale, 80, of Peoria, passed away at 1:25 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2013, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue in Peoria, with Pastor Scot M. Shelburne officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be at Smithville Cemetery. Lois was born on September 8, 1932 in Bynumville, MO, the daughter of Thomas Hubert and Wilma A. (Hulett) Porter. She married William L. Beale in Missouri on November 18, 1950. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1994 in Peoria. She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Jim) Holm of Carlinville and Sharon (David) Huff of Peoria; brother, Gary (Judy) Porter of Columbia, MO; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Lois retired, as a teller, from Bartonville Bank in the early 1980’s. She was formerly active in 4H and FFF and enjoyed bowling, woodworking crafts, jigsaw and crossword puzzles and spending time outside, especially in her garden. She was patient and creative and had an amazing ability to create something from nothing. Memorial contributions may be made in Lois’ memory to the American Cancer Society’s Road to Recovery Program in Peoria.
